TDL450H radio
The Trimble TDL450 series is an advanced, high speed, wireless UHF data radio built to endure the stresses of daily use in harsh conditions.
For R750 / R750-2 models with no internal radio, or to add a 450 MHz transmission to a 900 MHz model, a Trimble TDL450H radio can be connected to the receiver.
Solution
If the radio has a 5-pin LEMO to 7-pin LEMO connector with a power connection lead:
-
Connect the 7-pin LEMO connector to the serial port on the receiver.
-
Connect the 5-pin LEMO connector to the radio.
-
Connect the DC power lead to an external power source.
-
Turn on the radio.
If the radio has the 5-pin LEMO connector to 9-pin D-sub connector cable:
-
Connect the 9-pin D-connector to the 26-pin to 9-pin D-sub adapter on the receiver.
-
Connect the 5-pin LEMO connector to the radio.
-
Connect the DC power lead to an external power source.
-
Turn on the radio.
To configure the system, do one of the following:
-
Use the Siteworks software to connect to the receiver. Set up the base station with the external radio. The software will locate the radio and then allow you to set the radio channel.
-
Use the Trimble Access software to connect to the receiver. Set up the base station with the external radio. The Trimble Access software will locate the radio and then allow you to set the radio channel.
-
Use the web interface to configure the settings:
-
Select I/O Configuration / Port Configuration. Select the Serial 1 / Lemo option and select corrections to be sent on the LEMO port at those baud rate settings (the radio is shipped with the default rates 38400 8/N/1). While in the Port Configuration menu, also set the internal radio to transmit corrections.
-
-
Use the front panel of the receiver to set up the LEMO port and to select the radio on which to output the data (shown as R+L or R+M on the receiver display).
The TDLCONF configuration software accompanies the radio if you need to change the serial connection baud rate.
