Transmitting corrections using a TDL510 radio

The TDL510 is a dual-band 450 MHz and 900 MHz Tx/Rx UHF radio.

An external UHF radio can be used to add:

  • UHF transmit capability to an R750-000 receiver. This receiver does not have an internal radio.

  • 450 MHz transmit capability to an R750-900 receiver for a mixed fleet of rover receivers.

  • 900 MHz transmit capability to a third-party base station for a mixed fleet of rover receivers.

Connection

Use these connection options to connect to the R750 receiver.

For 12 V DC battery supply:

  • P/N 128287 with P/N 83223-02

For AC adapter with DC plug:

  • P/N 128287 with P/N 88769-00

  • P/N 128287 with a DB9(F) connector connects to:

    or

    P/N 57168

     

    • Any third-party RS-232 data cable with a DB9(M) connector.

Configuration

  1. Configure the TDL510 radio using its front panel and keypad. Refer to the TDL510 documentation.

  2. Use the Siteworks software to configure the R750 receiver as a base station with an external radio. The radio must be correctly configured before connecting to the Siteworks software. The software will locate the radio and then set the R750 COM port. Refer to the Siteworks documentation.

  3. Use the Siteworks sofware, the R750 web interface or front panel to set up the serial port on the receiver to match the radio serial port.

    Radio default port settings: 115200 8/N/1

    If using the receiver web interface to configure the settings: Select I/O Configuration / Port Configuration. Select the Serial 1 / Lemo COM1 option and select EXT-RADIO. Select the Baud field to 115200, and the Parity field to N. See Port Configuration.

    If using the receiver front panel to configure the settings: Briefly press and then . Scroll down to the Serial Ports menu and press . Select the COM1 option and select EXT-RADIO. Select the Baud field to 115200, and the Parity field to N. See Configuration screens.
