New product support: Trimble X9

The Trimble X9 gives you the power to do more. Features include a capture rate of 1 million points per second, a range of 150 meters, auto calibration and leveling, and improved sensitivity for difficult environments. Process X9 data in the same way as the X7, leveraging the entire workflow from Trimble Perspective and Trimble RealWorks.

New features

Panorama JPEG export

Export high quality panorama images as 2:1 JPEGs when importing TDX file format or importing via Import and Register.

Panorama position and orientation parameters

Export a .csv file containing the panorama position and orientation parameters to visualize in image viewing software.

Enhancements

Scan colorization and panorama image creation

The quality of panorama creation and scan colorization has been improved: better image stitching at the edge of the scan, better blending at occlusion areas. This applies to data from Trimble X7 and X9 scanners.

Cloud-based Registration default cloud colors

The default color options for the reference station and moving station are now orange and blue respectively. These color choices are recommended for those with Color-Vision Deficiency and align with the colors used in Trimble Perspective.

Resolved issues

  • TZF Import: Failure to import TZF files into an existing project not containing TZF files.

  • Inspection Map: Inverted image when using cylindrical or tunnel projections.

  • Export Orthophoto to DWG/DXF: Inverted image when exporting.

  • Project Load Times: Resolved slow project load time regression introduced in 12.4.1.

  • Target Analyzer: Resolved target extraction issue with scans over 150 million points.

  • Scan Explorer: Resolved pixelation issue when using color-coded intensity display.

  • Memory Leak: Resolved unnecessary memory usage when displaying/hiding images.

The updated API for the FARO .fls format has not been provided to Trimble, meaning FARO Premium scanners are not supported by Trimble RealWorks or any other Trimble product.
