2026.10
Version 2026.10 of the Trimble® RealWorks software is available from January 2026.
These Release Notes describe the new features and changes available in this release of the Trimble RealWorks software. Alternatively, you can download these release notes as a PDF file.
New features and enhancements
-
Noise Reduction on X7, X9 scans - Trimble Labs: Reduces measurement noise for Trimble X7 and Trimble X9 scans by leveraging point cloud density. This results in a thinner surface representation by minimizing the range noise of the measurements.
-
Adjust Registration: Adjust Registration now applies registration refinement using targets, points, and point clouds in one operation. Station registration links are imported from Trimble Perspective using the .TDX format. If station links are not present, create them using the Auto-Register using Planes command. Extract and match targets using the Target Analyzer prior to running the Adjust Registration tool.
-
Publish to TRCPS: Send data to the Trimble Reality Capture Platform Service for sharing and collaboration of point clouds, panoramic images, and annotations. Annotations are converted to BCF Topics in Trimble Connect.
-
Auto-Segment Reflection: Automatically segment and remove window reflections from selected clouds in the Production mode (requires colorized TZF files). Found in Edit > Cloud > Auto-Segment (TZF-Based).
-
Rename Stations and Objects: Allows batch renaming of a selection of objects using defined patterns. Select objects from the WorkSpace window, right click, and choose Rename entities.
-
Save Camera Positions as View Stations: Saves current camera view parameters (position, zoom, orientation) within annotations for quick restoration of a specific perspective. Create an annotation and choose Capture to save the camera position. Select the annotation from the WorkSpace, right click, and choose Go To Viewpoint.
-
Capture screen in Annotate: Captures and attaches the current 3D view as an image directly to the annotation. Found in the Attach Image section of the Annotation creation menu.
-
Proximity Target Matching: Automated matching of registration targets across scans using a distance criterion. This is useful when fewer than 3 common targets are present between overlapping stations.
Trimble Labs features are experimental tools made available for early use. While these features have met our standards for quality and robustness, they remain in a trial phase. Trimble reserves the right to modify or remove Labs features based on user feedback and technical evolution.
Trimble does not support FARO Premium scanners with Trimble RealWorks or other Trimble products because the updated API for the FARO .fls format has not been provided to Trimble. Users can choose to prevent the installation of the outdated .fls library through custom installation options.
