External communication

The communication (COM) connector on the base of the Trimble SPS Series Total Station can be used for:

Communication to a desktop computer
Communication between a controller and the Trimble SPS Series Total Station.
Installing firmware upgrades to the Trimble SPS Series Total Station

The communication (COM) connector on the base of the instrument can be used for external communications to a computer or data collector.

CAUTION – Use only the gray cables with 6-pin Hirose connectors from Trimble when connecting a cable to the instrument.
