Using Empower modules
Empower modules can be used to extend or expand the basic capabilities of your device. Each Empower module can be installed, removed, or moved from one Empower-enabled device to another.
The T7 tablet / Yuma 7 tablet computer allows up to two Empower modules to be installed at a time.
For more information about using Empower modules, refer to the Empower module documentation.
Installing Empower modules
-
Make sure your device is turned off. For more information, see Charging and power modes.
-
Turn the device over, and using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, loosen the 2 screws on one or both Empower module bay cover(s) to remove it/them.
Store the covers somewhere safe for future use if needed.
Before you remove a module from the device, make sure the device is powered off. Reattach the module bay cover when no module is attached.
-
Hook the Empower module onto the device, ensuring that the slots on the top of the device line up with those on the Empower module.
-
Tighten the 2 captive screws at the bottom of the Empower module using a Phillips #1 screwdriver. Do not overtighten the screws.
-
Turn on the device and start the Empower Hub (found under Start / Empower / Empower Hub). The Empower Hub is a centralized location for managing and monitoring your Empower modules.
Some modules do not require you to start the Empower Hub to manage the module. You may only need to use the Hub to turn the module off to save battery charge.
Some modules may require that additional drivers and / or supporting applications be installed before the base device recognizes the module; contact you Trimble dealer for help.
