View and Edit Description1, Description2 Fields
When you import a JobXML (.jxl) or Data Collector (.dc) file that includes Description1, Description2 fields, those descriptions are displayed in the Description1 and Description2 fields in the point's Properties pane and on the Point Spreadsheet tab. These fields, which are editable, are populated from the Description1, Description2 fields associated with each observation used to define the point.
If a different description was entered in the same description field for two or more observations used to define a point, the associated point Description field in Trimble Business Center shows each of the descriptions, separated by a semicolon. For example, say point 100 is defined by two observations. The Description1 value entered for one of the observations is "above-ground pipeline." The Description1 value entered for the other observation is "ground-level pipeline." In this case, the description displayed in the Description1 field in Trimble Business Center would be: "above-ground pipeline; ground-level pipeline." If necessary, you could edit the Description1 field to be either of the two descriptions, or a new description altogether (for example, "exposed pipeline").
If you export your project to a JobXML or Data Collector (.dc) file, any descriptions displayed in the Description1 and Description2 fields in Trimble Business Center are exported for the associated point.
Note: Description fields are not displayed for observations in Trimble Business Center. Descriptions can be viewed only in the associated point's Properties pane and on the Point Spreadsheet tab.
