Import Nordic Data Exchange Files (multiple file types)

Import a variety of files created in SBG Geo™, Mesta Anleggspakken and WinAnfelt software programs to bring point coordinates and complete roadway data (both designs and results for alignments and corridors) into your project. The file formats contain these types of data:

  • .gen - see Import NovaPoint Files
  • .geo - points, lines, and road top surfaces; (SBG file)
  • .gt - points and lines
  • .kof - coordinates, points, and lines with names and feature codes that import as points and breaklines or linestrings (point coordinates with linework based on a point numbering system), as well as observations (total station measurements and stationings);
  • .llc - latitude, longitude, and height coordinates; (transformation file)
  • .lin - horizontal alignment (HAL) (import with a .prf vertical alignment (VAL) file if you want to use them as one alignment); (SBG HAL file)
  • .lmd - master file that references HAL (.lin), VAL (.prf), point, lines, road top surfaces (.geo), cross-sections (.sec); (SBG file)
  • .nyl - VAL/profile (import with an associated .tit HAL file to use them as one alignment); (alignment segment file)
  • .prf - vertical alignment/profile; import with a .lin HAL file if you want to use them as one alignment; (SBG VAL file)
  • .pxy - X,Y,Z coordinates and observations (point coordinates with linework based on a point numbering system) that import as breaklines; imports as the same entities as .kof files; (SBG coordinate file)
  • .sec - cross-sections; import with a .lin HAL file if you want to use them as one alignment; (SBG cross-section file)
  • .skv - station, slope left, and slope right; import with .lin and .prf files; (SBG file)
  • .sos - points, linestrings, and breaklines
  • .tit - HAL (import with an associated .nyl VAL file to use them as one alignment); (alignment segment file)
  • .vgp - HAL and possibly VAL; (HAL or VAL file)

To import a file, follow the instructions in Import Data. After import, the file appears in the Project Explorer under the Imported Files folder. All imported data is placed on layer 0.
