Copy Objects to Paper Space
Use the Copy to Sheet command to copy objects from any view to a plan set, sheet set, or custom sheet. Doing this can help you:
- Move a title block that you inadvertently imported into model space into paper space/from the Plan View into a Sheet View.
- Move paper space objects to the correct level, e.g., from the plan set level down to the sheet set level.
Prerequisites:
- Licensed module; See the Subscription Plans page. For a license matrix by command, see the License page in the TBC Community. Also see View and manage licensed features.
- Objects that you want to move into or within paper space
To access the command:
- Select Copy to Sheet in Drafting > Sheets.
To copy objects to a sheet view:
- Open the view that shows the objects you want to move. This can be any view.
- Open a Sheet View and select the level at which you want to place the copied objects.
Tip: You may want to right-click the tab of one of the views and select Move to ...Group so you can see both of the views next to each other.
- From the Objects to move box, select the objects that you want to copy in the first view.
Note: Using [Control] + A to select objects to copy may select hidden objects that you do not intend to copy. 'Windowing' around just the objects you want to copy is recommended.
- In the Sheet list, select the sheet level at which you want to paste the copied objects.
- Click Apply. The copied objects appear at the same coordinate (as in model space) in the Sheet View you chose.
- If desired, delete the objects from the original view they were in.
Dependencies:
- None; if you leave the objects in the original view, any edits you make to them do not affect the copies in the the new Sheet View.
