Change Point Symbols

As an alternative to adding a symbol to a point using a label, you can use the Point Symbol command to directly change a symbol for one or more points.

Prerequisites:

  • one or more points

To change the symbol for points:

  1. Select Point Symbol to display the Point Symbol command pane.
  2. Optionally, enter a value to rotate the symbol in the Rotation field.
  3. Click the Symbol code edit button and select the appropriate symbol and size.

    The associated symbol code and the specified size are displayed in the Symbol code and Symbol size fields.

  4. To apply the selected symbol to one or more individual points, do the following:
    1. Click in the Select point to edit symbol field.
    2. Select the point in the Plan View.

      The symbol displays on the selected point.

    3. Optionally, repeat this procedure to add the symbol to additional points.
  5. To apply the selected symbol to multiple points simultaneously, do the following:
    1. Click in the Multi-select points to edit symbol field.
    2. Select the points in the Plan View.

      For example, select multiple points using Ctrl + click or by drawing a box, or select the Options button to make your selections.

    3. Click the Add button to add the symbol to the selected points.

      The symbol displays on each of the selected points. To remove all of the symbols, click the Remove button.

  6. When you are done, click the Close button.
