Export TBC/RealWorks Scan Data Exchange Files (.tdx)

Export scan, station, and image data from your project into a TDX (.tdx) file that can be imported into a different TBC project or into Trimble RealWorks for additional processing, analysis, and deliverables creation.

Note: Trimble RealWorks is a 3D scanning software that allows you to efficiently register, analyze, model, and create deliverables using data from virtually any source.

To export TBC/RealWorks Scan Data Exchange files:

Select Export in Home > Data Exchange.
Click the Point Cloud tab in the Export command pane and select TDX exporter (Trimble RealWorks).
There is no need to select data for the export; all applicable data is exported from the project.
Select the appropriate option in Export mode drop-down list:
- Standard - Create a TDX file and a TDF folder containing all required scan and image files, resulting in a ready-to-share package that can easily be moved to a new location for processing in a different TBC project or in a Trimble RealWorks project.
- Linked to current project - Create a TDX file but not a TDF folder containing scan and image files. The data files remain in their current location and are linked to the project when the TDX file is opened in another TBC project or in a Trimble RealWorks project. Note that the links will be broken if the files are moved from their current location, and the data will no longer display in the new TBC or Trimble RealWorks project.
In the File Name file, optionally change the TDX file name, which, by default, is the same as the project name.
Optionally, do either of the following:
- Click the Browse button and change the location for the TDX file and, if applicable, the TDF folder. The default location is the project folder.
- Click the Save File Remotely button to save the TDX file and, if applicable, the TDF folder, to a remote location such as Trimble Connect.
Click Export.
