Export Data

Export data from your project in a variety of formats to either a folder, or the Trimble Connected Workspace. See the individual file format topics for details.

To export data:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • Select Export in Home > Data Exchange.
    • Select one or more points, right-click, and select Export from the context menu.

    The Export command pane displays.

  2. Click the appropriate export type in the File Format group.

A list of available exporters displays.

  3. Select an exporter in the list.

If the export format you want it not listed, create a custom exporter.

Caution: If you have a field device connected, only file types compatible with the device appear.

If necessary, you can use the View Filter Manager command to filter the selectable data in a graphic view.

  4. Click in the Data field and then, using a graphic view or the Project Explorer, select the data to export. Or, use one of the other Selection Options.
  5. Complete any additional Data settings that might display, as applicable.

If using a custom exporter, you can choose to transform coordinates to a specified coordinate system, or transform coordinates to a local system using a specified reference point.

  6. Optionally, in the File Name field change the default name of the export file and/or it's folder location. Optionally, click the Save File Remotely button to save the file to an external service (requires anExternal Services Profile).

  7. If export settings display in the Settings group, specify them as needed.

Note: The TBC Custom Exporter has been enhanced to provide three transformation options when exporting coordinates:
    - Do not transform coordinates
    - Transform coordinates to a specified coordinate system
    - Transform coordinates to a local system using a specified reference point

  8. Click Export to export the data using the specified file name to the specified destination folder.
    Or
Click Remote Save to display the Connected Workspace window, which allows you to save the file to a Connected Workspace project. Simply select the project in Connected Workspace and click Save.

When you select this option, the file is not saved to the specified file folder. It is saved only in your Connected Workspace project. Note that Trimble ID login credentials are required to run the Connected Workspace command. For more information, see Exchange Data Using Connected Workspace.

Tips:
- You can select data before you begin the Export command.
- To customize the format of the exported data, select Export Format Editor.
- To quickly open the project folder that you are currently working in, select Open Project Folder.
