Select Similar Objects

Use the Select Similar command to select objects (for example, CAD objects or survey points) that have properties matching the properties of a chosen object.

Prerequisites:

See the Subscription Plans page. For a license matrix by command, see the License page in the TBC Community. Also see View and manage licensed features.

To access the command:

  • Select Select Similar in Home > Selection.
  • Select Select Similar in the various object context menus and selection Options drop-down menus.

To select similar objects:

  1. In the Select Similar command pane, click in the Source object field and then select in a graphic view the source object whose properties you want to use for your selection search criteria.

If you opened the Select Similar command pane using a context menu, the source object may already be selected.

The Properties list includes a check for each property type associated with the selected source object.

  2. In the Properties list, check the check boxes for the properties you want to use in your selection search.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Click Apply to perform the selection and keep the command pane open. Or, right-click in the graphic view and select Apply in the context menu.
    • Click OK to perform the selection and close the command pane. Or, right-click in the graphic view and select OK in the context menu.

All objects in your project that include the selected properties of the source object are selected.
