Open WorksManager and Create a Project
Use the WorksManager command to open the WorksManager web application where you can create a project and define its boundary. This WorksManager project will serve as a container that you will open in TBC to add project and design data to be saved as a VCL file to share with these field system devices on construction sites:
- Siteworks field devices
- Earthworks machine control boxes
You can also use this command to open and edit an existing WorksManager project.
Note: Although you may already be logged in to WorksManager within TBC (via External Services), you may be prompted to sign in again.
Note: Trimble WorksManager and Trimble WorksOS apps have account-level roles and project-level permissions that affect the functions you have access to. Current TBC users are not expected to change their Account Role (Account Administrator) or Project Permission (Project Manager). The expanded account roles and project permissions will not change any of the existing functionality for you as a TBC user. The account role and project permission changes are for downgrading or restricting current user access or adding additional users that have restricted access to WorksOS and WorksManager. For specific examples, see the Account Roles and Project Permissions help topics in the WorksOS and WorksManager help. Going forward, if you adopt the Account User role you will not be able to create WorksOS projects from within TBC. If you adopt the Project Viewer role, you will not be able to publish new projects, or edit projects, designs, or data to WorksOS or WorksManager. TBC users who are Project Viewers will, however, be able to adopt WorksManager project data, as well as view WorksOS machine data overlays.

To access the command:
- Select WorksManager in Construction Data > WorksManager.
Alternately, you can open https://worksmanager.com/.
To open WorksManager and create a project:
- Sign in to WorksManager using the same credentials you set up previously in External Services.
- In WorksManager, click + Create.
- If prompted, select your Account. Otherwise, enter a unique Project Name, and click Next.
- Enter the address of your project’s job site, and zoom in to the extent that you can draw an accurate boundary. You can click-and-drag to pan the view.
- Click Draw Boundary, and pick points in the map view to draw a polygonal boundary representing the extents of the site. This boundary is used as a ‘geo-fence’ that determines whether your Siteworks field devices, or Earthworks machine control boxes are ‘on-site’.
- Click OK to close the boundary.
- Click Next.
- Click + next to any of these types of Configuration File to add them as project data:
Note: In this workflow, you will bypass this screen to add the appropriate project data in TBC instead.
- Click Finish.
- Return to TBC. If you:
- did not add the site-level files listed above, proceed to Configure and Assign a WorksManager Project to add those files to the project you just created. The project you just created will appear in the Project list there.
- did add the site-level files within WorksManager, proceed to Create a WorksManager Design to create a design and add associated files for the project.
- Close WorksManager if needed.
