Copy/Paste Vector Data

TBC offers standard Windows copy/paste functionality to exchange vector data and a high-resolution bitmap screenshot via the clipboard. This enables simple data transfer between TBC projects, and also between TBC and external applications like Microsoft Word.

TBC can copy the following:

  • Text
  • Graphical elements such as points with media, coordinates, lines, hatches, block references, and surfaces
  • Connected metadata such as layers, text styles, line styles, and feature definitions
  • Layout data such as plan sets and sheet sets
  • It does not copy point clouds, coordinate system transformations, or the metadata by itself.

To Copy/Paste data from one project to another

  1. Select the objects you want to copy in the graphic view (Plan View, Sheet View, or Cutting Plane View) to be duplicated.
  2. Click <CTRL> + C to copy the objects.
  3. Open a new project, or an external application like Microsoft Word.
  4. Click <CTRL> + V to paste the objects.

If the data is copied and pasted into an external application, it pastes the copied data as a bitmap file.
