Resolve a Conflict in Stakeout Points

Resolve inconsistencies between stakeout points you have included in your job site design and stakeout points for the same design on assigned controllers by choosing which points to use on all. A conflict is indicated by the active Resolve button with the icon in the Job Site Design Manager command pane.

Causes of a stakeout point conflict include differences in coordinates, feature codes, point file names or dates, or the points they contain.

Note: Certain characters are invalid in stakeout point IDs:
/ \ : * ? < > | ; , ~ ‘ ` “ $ [ ] { } ^ ( )
Note: The Undo and Redo commands do not affect any of the functions that synchronize files. Undo and Redo affect only edits made to database objects within your project; this does not include files in the data synchronization area (which SCS and GCS use). If you try to undo a conflict resolution, the Resolve button remains disabled because the conflict is still resolved.

To resolve a multiple stakeout point file conflict:

  1. Click Resolve in the Job Design Manager.
  2. Click Yes if asked if you want to resolve conflicts. The Resolve Stakeout Points File Conflict dialog displays, showing the files that exist on a single controller.
  3. Select a stakeout point file in the list, and click OK. All other stakeout point files are removed, and the conflict is resolved.
  4. If there are multiple stakeout point files on another controller, repeat the process and click OK. If you selected a stakeout point file that is in conflict with others on assigned controllers, the Resolve Stakeout Points Conflict dialog displays (see the next section). Otherwise, the conflict is resolved.

To resolve a stakeout point conflict:

  1. Click Resolve in the Job Site Design Manager.
  2. Click Yes if asked if you want to resolve conflicts. The Resolve Stakeout Points Conflict dialog displays, showing the stakeout points in your project and on assigned controllers that are in conflict.
  3. For each point in the list, click the icon to expand the set.
  4. Check one box for the stakeout point you want to retain in each set of conflicting points.
  5. Click OK. The conflict is resolved, and the stakeout points are updated in the data synchronization area.

Warning: Resolving a conflict by selecting the project-based stakeout points overwrites the stakeout points on assigned controllers when they are synchronized.
