File Compression and E-mail Options

Use these options to compress and e-mail field data, such as a job site, job site design, and work order files, to colleagues or field crews. They are available in the Compress /E-mail Field Data dialog.

Options

Controller

Select the controller to which the files you want to compress are assigned.

Compressed file name

Type a path and name for the output file. To browse for a file path, click the Browse button.

The default path saves to a temporary folder.

Files to compress

Check the box for each file to include in the compressed folder. Uncheck boxes for files you do not want to include.

For the assigned controller, all of the files beneath the selected site, design, or work order are listed. By default, all files are selected for inclusion in the .zip file.

Only show files modified since last synchronization

Check this to filter the list to include only files that have been created or changed since you last synchronized with the selected controller.

E-mail file

Check this to send the compressed folder to an email address.

Note: Some Trimble® controllers, such as the TSC2™, can have a dedicated e-mail account. When the controller connects to a network and accesses the e-mail server, the .zip file appears in the e-mail Inbox.

E-mail address

Type the e-mail address for the colleague or controller.

Note: This feature requires Microsoft® Outlook® to work. Other email programs may work, but are not guaranteed. Web-based email programs, such as Microsoft Hotmail, Yahoo®Mail or Google®Gmail™, will not work.
Tip: If your email program is not supported, you can still create the compressed file, open your email program, attach the file to a message, and send it.
