View Filter Manager Options
Use these options to select data types and layers to control what is visible in graphic views, helping you reduce and simplify what you see. View filters can be customized for each kind of view so that only the useful types of data are shown for each view. They are available in the View Filter Manager.
Locked and unlocked view filters
With the exception of My Filter, default view filters (such as All) are locked so they cannot be edited. To edit a view filter, click the Copy View Filter con located the top of the pane. Type a new view filter name and click OK to create an editable copy.

Copy View Filter |
Click this to make a copy of the currently selected view filter. The original view filter's name is appended with "- Copy" in the new view filter's name. |
Rename View Filter |
Click this to rename the currently selected view filter. Then type a unique name for the view filter in the New name box, and click . |
Delete the current filter |
Click this to delete the currently selected view filter. The view filter disappears from the list, and the current graphic view becomes associated with the default view filter. If the default view filter does not exist, the view is associated with the view filter named All. Only unlocked view filters can be deleted. |
Zoom extents when the filter changes |
Click this to put the View Filter Manager into Auto Zoom mode in which the current graphic view automatically zoom to the extents of the data that is visible in the current view filter. |
Isolate layer |
Click this to put the View Filter Manager into Isolate Layers mode. All of the groups collapse except for the Layers group. Select a single layer to see only the data on that layer. |
Hide layers of selected objects |
Pick objects in the graphic view, and click this to hide the layers on which the selected objects reside. |
View only layers of selected objects |
Pick objects in the graphic view, and click this to hide all the layers except those on which the selected objects reside. |
Hide non-visible layers |
Click this to hide the names of layers (in the pane's Layers group) that have no objects shown in the graphic views. |
Advanced View Filter Settings |
Click this to open the dialog where you can set additional view filter and layer settings, as well as the standard settings found in the View Filter Manager. |
View Filter drop-down list |
Select a view filter to apply it to the current view. Then you can edit it or copy it. |
Selection Set drop-down list |
Optionally, select one or more selection sets whose member objects you want to show or hide and to which you want the filtering criteria to apply. You can also select the Unassigned objects set, which includes objects that are not assigned to any selection set. If you select multiple selection sets, you can choose to hide all member objects, show all member objects, or show just the member objects that are common to the selected sets, contingent on your additional selection of filtering options. Note: Selection sets can contain objects that have no visible display, such as coordinates. In the Selection Explorer, all selection sets are available. In the View Filter Manager, however, only selection sets that contain at least one visible object are available. |

Click these tabs near the bottom of the pane to set additional display style options. They only appear when you select an unlocked view filter, and they are part of the view filter criteria. |
Context menu options To view the context menu for a group header, select it and right-click. To view the context menu for an individual object in a group, right-click it. |

View all/ Hide all |
Use this option to check/uncheck all of the boxes in a group, thereby displaying or hiding all of those object types or layers in the graphic view. To show/hide all layers within a single layer group, right-click a layer within the group, and choose View All or Hide All. To show/hide all layers in all layer groups, right-click any layer group, and choose View All or Hide All. |
View only this |
Within a group, use this option to check the selected object type or layer, and uncheck everything else in the group. Note: If no data is visible after you select View Only This, make sure that the box for the layer the data is on is also checked. |
Move up/ Move down |
On a group, use this option to move the group up or down in the tree so that your most frequently used groups are at the top. The order is saved with your project, and is the same for all view filters. |
Invert |
Within a group, use this option to check all of the boxes that are unchecked and uncheck all of the boxes that are checked. |
Layer Manager |
Within the Layers group, use this option to open theLayer Manager dialog. |
Additional options |

Rename Layer |
You can double-click the name of any unprotected layer in the Layers group and type to rename the layer. To change a protected layer to unprotected, use the layer options mentioned above. |
