Turning the handheld on and off

To turn on the handheld, press and hold the Power button until the Trimble "Powered by Android" screen displays.

To completely shut down the handheld, press and hold the Power button until the Power options menu appears, and then tap Power off. All running apps are shut down, and the handheld is completely turned off.

Using Sleep modes

A short press on the power button places the TDC6 handheld into Sleep mode.

To wake the device from Sleep mode, briefly press the power button.

Hot-swapping the battery

The TDC6 handheldsupports hot-swapping the battery; an internal backup battery will power the device for 60 seconds, enabling you to replace the removable battery with a fully charged spare battery without shutting down the device.

1. Make sure the spare battery is charged.

2. Save data in any open applications.

3. In a dry, dust-free environment, remove the device's battery (see Inserting and removing the battery, and an optional SIM card and SD card

4. As quickly as possible, insert the charged replacement battery and clip it into place (see Inserting and removing the battery, and an optional SIM card and SD card.
