Adding a target

You can create up to nine non‑DR targets in the Trimble Access software.

  1. Tap the target icon in the status bar.
  2. In the Targets screen, tap +. The Target properties form for the selected target appears.
  3. Select the Prism type. The remaining fields and options shown in the Target properties form depend on the selected prism type.
  4. Enter the Display name for the target. The number of the target is appended to the display name.
  5. To set the target height:

    • Enter the measured height in the Target height field.

    • To change the Target height measurement method, tap and select the appropriate option for your survey setup. See Target height measurement methods.

    • If you selected Custom in the Prism type field, you must enter the Prism constant in millimeters (mm). For all Trimble prisms, the prism constant is automatically defined. See Prism constant.

  6. If the target supports different tracking modes, configure the target tracking settings:

    • If the Tracking mode field is shown, select from the list of available tracking modes for the selected Prism type. See Target tracking settings.

    • If the LED power field is shown, set the LED power level for the target.

      • Select Normal when using the target for long ranges or in obstructed areas.

      • Select Low LED power to preserve battery life.

    • If the Check target ID field is shown, select the required behavior in the Check target ID field and then set the Target ID to match the identification number on the pole. This field appears for Trimble 360°, VX/S series 360° or R10 360° targets only.

NOTE – When Check target ID is set to Always, you must set the Target ID on the pole to on continuously. When measuring rounds observations, make sure that each target in the rounds list can have a different target ID. These settings are retained for each individual target until the rounds observations are completed.

    • Set the Target ID, if required.

      • For a Trimble 360°, VX/S series 360°, R10 360° or Custom prism, set the Target ID to match the identification number on the pole.

      • For a Active Track 360 or VX/S series MultiTrack target, set the Target ID to match the Target ID on the total station.

      • For a T-360 LED or T-360SL LED, set the Target ID using the dial on the top of the target and then set the Target ID field in the software to match the identification number on the target. The T-360 LED or T-360SL LED targets are available only in Japan.

  7. Tap Accept.

The software returns to the Targets screen, with the new target selected as the target in use.

  8. Tap Accept.
