To stake out points

Conventional survey

1. Make sure the Target height is correct.

   To change the target height, tap the target icon in the status bar and edit the height of the target. Tap Accept.

2. Tap the point in the map and then tap Stakeout. Alternatively, double-tap the point.

3. Navigate to the point.

4. When the point is within tolerance, tap Measure to measure the point.

   When using a Trimble SX12 scanning total station in TRK mode with the laser pointer enabled, the Stakeout screen shows the Mark point softkey instead of the Measure softkey. Tap Mark point to put the instrument into STD mode. The laser pointer stops flashing and moves to position itself at the EDM location. When you tap Accept to store the point, the instrument automatically returns to TRK mode and the laser pointer resumes flashing. To remeasure and update the stakeout deltas, tap Measure after you tap Mark point and before you tap Accept. For more information, see EDM settings.

5. Tap Accept to store the point.
6. If you selected the View before storage option and your stakeout deltas are outside of the horizontal tolerance set, then the Confirmed staked deltas screen shows the Staked deltas format you selected in the Stakeout options. Tap Store.

GNSS survey

1. Make sure the Antenna height and Measured to information is correct.

2. Tap the point in the map and then tap Stakeout. Alternatively, double-tap the point.

3. Navigate to the point.

4. When the point is within tolerance, measure the point.
5. Tap Store.
6. If you selected the View before storage option and your stakeout deltas are outside of the horizontal tolerance set, then the Confirmed staked deltas screen shows the Staked deltas format you selected in the Stakeout options. Tap Store.

1. Tap and select Stakeout / Points.
2. If the Stake out items list appears beside the map, tap Point to change to staking a single point.
3. Tap next to the Point name field and select:
   • List to view a list of all points in the current job and project data files used in the map.
   • Wildcard search to select from a filtered list of all points in the current job and linked files.
   • Key in to key in the coordinates of the point to stake.

   TIP – Tap Closest to populate the Point name field with the name of the closest point. (In portrait mode, swipe right to left along the row of softkeys to view more softkeys.) Closest searches the current job and project data files used in the job to find the closest point that is not an as‑staked point or a design point for the as‑staked points.

4. Enter the Point increment value. After measuring and storing the point, the software uses the Point increment value to determine the next point to stake. To:
   • Return to the stake out point screen after staking a point, enter an increment of 0 or ?.
   • Automatically increment to the next point, enter a valid increment value.

   If a point does not exist using the increment specified, tap Cancel to return to this screen after staking a point. Alternatively, tap the Search button to find the next available point.

   You can use a decimal point increment, for example 0.5. You can also increment the numeric component of a point name that ends in alpha characters, for example, you can increment 1000a by 1 to 1001a. To do this, tap and then clear the Apply to numeric only check box.

5. Navigate to the point and stake it. Refer to the steps in the To stake a single point from the map section above.

6. The software uses the Point increment value to determine the next point to stake. If a point with the increment value exists, the name and navigation information for the next point are shown.

   If the point does not exist, the Stake out point screen appears. Select the next point to stake. Tap Next to find the next point. If it does not exist, tap the Search button to find the next available point.
