Using the navigation options

You can navigate to an existing form by:

  • Selecting it on the Map

  • Selecting its Form

Alternatively, you can enter coordinates (latitude and longitude, or Northing and Easting) to navigate to, or set a bearing and distance to navigate to.

Navigate to an existing form

  1. Do one of the following:

    1. Tap the form on the map that you want to navigate to, Then tap the Navigation button in the form selection card.

    2. Tap Forms. Select the form you want to navigate to, then tap .

  2. Start to walk toward the form as directed—an arrow and distance to the form are shown on the map.

    • As you get within 5m of the form you are navigating to, the view switches to Precise Navigation Mode. This mode enables you to precisely navigate to your forms horizontal position. As you get within 1m horizontally of your form, vertical navigation will also appear enabling you to accurately navigate to your forms vertical position.

    TIP – To collect new data at any time while navigating to an existing form, tap and select the required template. Complete the form as required.

  3. When navigating along a line or area form, you can use Crosstrack Navigation to keep you aligned. Crosstrack Navigation is automatically started when within 2 meters of a line or area form and will initially track to the nearest vertex.

  4. When you are at the selected form, tap on the form card to open and edit the form, or tap Exit Navigation.

  5. Tap the "Form" bar / Map(top of the form), then tap(Point form), (Line form), or (Area form) to log the position(s).

  6. Tap to save the position(s).

  7. Update any form fields as required, then tap .

Navigate to coordinates

From the Map, you can enter coordinates to navigate to.

  1. On the Map, tap within the Navigation Bar and then tap Navigate to coordinate.

  2. The Start location will be from the current location.

  3. Select the Input Coordinate System you want to use (Global, Local, or Projected).

  4. If you are using a Global or Local coordinate system, enter the Latitude and Longitude coordinates . For Projected, enter the Northing and Easting values.

  5. Tap Navigate.

To collect new data at any time while navigating to specified coordinates, tap and select the required template. Complete the form as required.

Navigate by measurement

From the map, You can set your navigation target by entering a distance and bearing from your current location.

  1. On the Map, tap within the Navigation Bar and then tap Navigate by measurement.

  2. The Start location is the Current location by default.

  3. Tap Bearing and enter the angle in degrees relative to True North.

  4. Tap Distance and enter the linear distance to the target destination.

  5. Tap Navigate.
