To capture the position of the feature you are collecting using GNSS, tap the "Feature" bar or tap Map
(top of the form), then tap
(Point feature),
(Line feature), or
(Area feature) to log the position(s). Alternatively, tap Digitize (Point
/ Line
/ Area
) then tap the position(s) on the map.NOTE – The Digitize option may have been disabled and will not be available. See Editing template properties.
If you are logging a Line feature but you can't get to the feature, you can offset your position horizontally either left or right from your current position (up to 100 m) and also your vertical elevation while tracking the line. See Logging an offset line feature.
If you have a TruPulse laser rangefinder or Trimble HPS2 handle, you can use it to capture remote features that you are unable to get to. See Using a Trimble HPS2 handle or Using a TruPulse laser rangefinder to measure offsets.
If you have a utility locator / external sensor, you can use it to capture data and automatically populate "Sensor" fields.
-
When you first open a form that contains Sensor fields, the fields are editable and you can manually enter values.
-
If you fire the sensor, these fields are auto-populated with the sensor data and they become un-editable.
-
If you have manually entered data and then fire a sensor, the data you entered manually is overwritten.
-
If you fire the sensor more than once, the data is overwritten with the new data until you save the form.
For more information, see Using utility locators / external sensors.
If you are using a Trimble R12i, R780, or R890 GNSS receiver with TIP™ technology (Trimble Inertial Platform™ technology), a TIP readiness status is displayed. See Connecting to a Trimble GNSS receiver for more information.
