Firewall and Network Settings

IBSS V2 uses the DNS name ibss.trimble.com. Ensure outbound firewalls allow connections on standard NTRIP port 2101, and port 52101 (for TLS NTRIP connections in construction). Avoid hard-coding IP addresses, as they may change during maintenance windows.

Base Name Changes (Shared Bases)

When a base station is shared into a partner account, its name will appear in the rover drop-down with a new format: Base_wm_ORG (where ORG is the organization's name). Ensure that your field operators select this updated mountpoint.

Authentication Errors When Base is Offline

If the base station goes offline or loses its internet connection, the NTRIP caster may incorrectly return an "Invalid User name or Password" error to the rover. Before resetting passwords, physically verify that the base station is powered on, online, and correctly broadcasting.

Adding Non-Trimble Custom Devices

While legacy systems allow custom formats, WorksManager requires a strict structure. To add a third-party rover (e.g., Topcon, Leica), you must create a custom model type (e.g., "3RDPARTY") in WorksManager, then add the device against that model type with a specific serial number. If a legacy custom device stops working, delete it via the old interface and re-add it fresh through WorksManager.
