Publish Field Data to Business Data Center
There are two ways to make job site design files from your project available to WorksOS via the Business Data Center (BDC) filespace on the Connected Community (TCC):
- Use the Publish Field Data to Business Data Center command to upload the files.
Warning: Doing this immediately overwrites any files of the same name in Business Data Center with those created from your project.
- Use the Synchronize with Business Data Center via Office Synchronizer option to synchronize job site design files to the Business Data Center (BDC) filespace on the Connected Community (TCC) to make them available for use in WorksOS.
Note: When you run Office Synchronizer, both the machine design files and the WorksOS files will be synchronized at the same time.
Published files:
Using either the command or the option above, these types of files can be sent:
- Design maps - These are sent as both a .dxf file and a .kmz file. The .kmz file is "clamped to ground" and has no northing/easting/elevation offset. The .kmz file, which has the same file name as the .dxf file, is tracked for conflicts just like the .dxf file; this includes external designs that are part of your project.
Note: All linework in the uploaded .kmz files is colored red, regardless of its color in Trimble Business Center.
Note: If you created a design assigned to the BDC in Trimble Business Center v2.50 or earlier, there will be no indication in version 2.60 or later that there is no .kmz file written. You will need to unassign and then reassign the job site design for the .kmz to be written. When you do this, a new .dxf and a new .ttm file are also written. - Road surface models - These are sent in a .dxf file with the extension .model.dxf. Any horizontal alignment associated with the road surface is sent in an .svl file, which can be used in WorksOS.
Note: .model.dxf files are still sent to the BDC for 3D linework and alignment (1+ alignments) design model types.
Note: The coordinate system (.cfg file) and machine version do not matter in determining how this file will be used.
Note: Since GCS machines allow only one alignment, the BDC also allows only one alignment. If a selected job site design has a road surface model with more than one alignment, an error will occur. Similarly, alignments with station equations are not supported.
Prerequisites:
- License; See the Subscription Plans page. For a license matrix by command, see the License page in the TBC Community. Also see View and manage licensed features.
- TCC account
- WorksOS access
To access the command:
- Right-click a job site design in the Project Explorer, and select Publish Field Data To Business Data Center from the context menu.
Note: To connect, you will have to login to TCC (if you have not logged-in previously).
To access the check box option:
- Select Job Site Design Manager in Construction Data > Controllers.
Scenarios:
- If you do not have a project space on TCC you can create a new project space under your organization's filespace, WorksOS projects location on TCC, as determined by your login credentials.
- If you have files of the same name and type in the selected folder already, you will receive a warning message, to confirm that you want to replace the existing file with the new one.
