3D View Navigation
Use your mouse or, where applicable, your trackpad to navigate 3D views using the following actions.
Using a mouse with a mouse wheel:
- Pan - Press the right button and drag the mouse. (To pan at a slower rate, press [Alt] while you drag the mouse.)
- Zoom - Rotate the mouse wheel. (To zoom at a slower rate, press [Alt] while you rotate the wheel.)
- Rotate all directions - Press the mouse wheel and drag the mouse. The rotation point is set at the cursor's location.
To set a static rotation point, press [Alt] and click on an object in the view (for example, a point, vector, or baseline) to select the location for the rotation point. To clear the rotation point, press [Alt] and click off of any objects.
Note: By default, you are restricted to rotating around the Z axis and X axis with the Z axis pointed up. This constraint can be useful in keeping the view manageable. However, if you require the ability to perform a free rotation in which the Z axis can point in any direction (for example, to verify scan registration results), you can toggle off the Z Axis Always Up setting in the following locations:
- Point Clouds > View in the TBC ribbon
- 3D View Settings dialog
- General > Startup and Display in the Options dialog - Rotate horizontally only - Press [Shift] and rotate the mouse wheel.
- Rotate vertically only - Press [Ctrl] and rotate the mouse wheel.
- Exaggerate vertically - Press [Ctrl] and [Shift],and rotate the mouse wheel.
