Import Pile Plan Results Files (.xml)

Import pile plan results files (.xml) to bring as-built pile data in from a piling machine running DPS900 in the field. Then you can run a Blow Count Report and/or a Piling Quality Report.

To import a pile plan results file:

Importing Piling Data

When you import as-built pile data:

  • The as-built piles appear in the Plan View and the pile plan appears in the Project Explorer. If the plan's name matches that of an existing plan, the as-built results are merged into the existing plan.
  • The piles are placed on the default 0 layer.
  • Properties for the imported piles include the pile ID, manufacturing ID, target blows, total blows, orientation, inclination, top-of-pile coordinate and cut-off elevation, and bottom-of-pile coordinate and elevation.
  • Properties for the imported piles include the ID, total blows, pile and embedded lengths, orientation, top and bottom of pile coordinates, and blow count requirements specified in the file. Any pile's properties that are not specified in the imported file (e.g., 3D positional accuracy) are set to the defaults specified in Project Settings.
  • The orientation, inclination, and embedded length properties are calculated using the Top of pile and the Bottom of pile values in the file.

Scenarios:

  • If you import an as-built piling results file without having its associated pile plan in your project, the piles will appear only as vectors, because the results file does not know the cross-section types that were used. If you then import the original pile plan, and rebuild the plan, the as-built piles are updated with their cross-sectional shapes.
