Select Similar Objects Using the CAD Command Line

Use the Select Similar command alias on the CAD Command Line to select objects (for example, CAD objects or survey points) that have properties matching the properties of a chosen object.

Prerequisites:

To match properties between objects from the CAD Command Line:

  1. Press [F3] or click thei_command line icon on the Status Bar to open the CAD Command Line.
  2. Type ss or SS at the command prompt, and press [Enter].
  3. Skip the Layer, Color, and Line style lists below the command prompt; they do not apply to this operation.
  4. In the Select Properties dialog, check boxes for the properties you want to select other objects by, and click Close.

    Note: Check Select target attributes If you are selecting similar processed feature attributes (the Attributes check box is checked), you can click the Select target attributes button and de-select any of the specific attributes you do not want to match.

  5. Pick the source object (from which to identify objects with the same attributes) in a graphic view or enter a keyword character to use another mode. The option is:
    • Show dialog - Enter SH to return to the Select Properties dialog where you can change the attributes to find other objects by.

    The command remembers the last properties and mode used the next time you run the command.

  6. Press [Enter] to select the objects with similar properties.
  7. Press [Spacebar] to rerun the command.
