Command Pane

The Command Pane provides a handy means to access any of the commands in TBC without the need to locate them in tab menus.

To display the Command Pane:

Do any of the following:

  • Select Command Pane.
  • Press F12.
  • Click the Show the Command Pane icon located at the top of most command panes.

Note: If you have more than one command pane open in TBC (that is, the panes are "stacked" upon each other), you can click the List Stacked Commands icon located at the top of the displayed command pane to show a list of the open commands. You can then select any command in the list to display its associated command pane (that is, move the pane to the top of the stack).

To run a command from the Command Pane:

Do any of the following:

  • Select a command in theAll Commands list.
  • Start typing a command name in the Command box at the top of the pane. As you type, a list displays that dynamically updates to show each command that includes the character string you have typed. When the command you want to run is displayed in the list, select it to run the command.
  • Type any portion of a command name followed by a question mark (?). All command names that include the typed character string are displayed in the Recent Commands list. Double-click the command you want to run.
  • Double-click a command in the Recent Commands list. Or, with your cursor in the Command field, use the Arrow keys to select any of the other commands listed in the Recent Commands list. Then press Enter to run the command.

To view help for a command:

Right-click any command listed in the Command Pane and click the Help pop-up.

To view the location of commands in the TBC ribbon:

Right-click any command listed in the Command Pane and then hover your cursor over the Help pop-up to display the tab and section where the command is located in the TBC ribbon. If no ribbon tab and section is displayed for a command, the command is not located in the ribbon. Optionally, you can add any command to the ribbon or change its location in the ribbon (see Use the Ribbon Layout) and the ribbon menu path will update accordingly in the Command Pane pop-up.
