Delete a Line Segment
Delete a segment from a multi-segmented line or linestring to form one or two linestrings, depending on whether you delete an interior or an end segment. If a line consists of only one segment, the entire line will be deleted. When you delete a segment from a closed shape, the remaining segments stay joined as a single line.
Note: This command can be especially helpful in fixing crossing breaklines in a surface.
Prerequisites:
- CAD polyline or multi-segment linestring
To delete a segment:
- Select Delete Line Segment in CAD > Edit.
The Delete Line Segment command pane displays.
- Pick a line or linestring in a graphic view. The name is recorded in the Line box, and a "rubber-band" line appears between your cursor and the line.
- Using the rubber-band line, move along the line and pick the segment you want to delete. The segment disappears.
- Continue picking linestrings and then segments to delete, or click .
