Creating a task in the field
To create a task in the field in TerraFlex:

Select the project you want to create the task in (a cloud project or a local project).

At the bottom of the screen, tap Tasks.

At the top of the screen, tap

In the New Task screen, enter a Name and a Task description, then tap
.The Tasks screen displays, showing the task with a NEW badge. The number of forms updated and the number of new forms collected show in the task card.

Tap the task you want to work with and tap Open task.
The Tasks screen displays, showing the task with the ACTIVE badge.

Tap Forms at the bottom of the screen. In the Forms screen, select the form you want to collect. Complete the form as required.
If you have a laser rangefinder you can use it to capture remote features that you are unable to get to. See Using a TruPulse laser rangefinder to measure offsets.
If you have an external sensor, you can use it to capture data and automatically populate sensor fields. See Using utility locators / external sensors.
NOTE – Any existing data will be updated / overridden when the external sensor is fired. If you fire the sensor more than once, the data is overwritten with the new data until you save the form.
If you are using a Trimble R12i, R780, or R980 GNSS receiver with TIP™ technology (Trimble Inertial Platform™ technology), a TIP readiness status is displayed. See Connecting to a Trimble GNSS receiver for more information.

Tap
to save the form, or next to
tap then tap Save As Draft if you need to come back to it later.
Completing a task in a cloud project
For a task created in a cloud project, complete your task:

On the Tasks screen, tap the task you want to complete.

At the top of the screen, tap
. -
In the Complete task? popup, tap Complete task.
The task is sent to Map Viewer and is removed from your device.
Exporting and deleting a task from a local project
For a task created in a local project, export your task.

Tap
/ Export forms.
A message confirms that copies of completed forms (and not draft forms) will be exported to the Downloads folder on your device, in the format that you have set in
/ Local project settings.

In the Export forms dialog, select which forms you want to export:

Export new forms only exports only forms which have never previously been exported. If there are no new forms, this option is greyed out.

Export all forms exports all the completed forms within your project.

Tap Export.
When you have completed all the required forms and you have exported your data, you can delete the task. Select it and tap
. In the Delete task? confirmation prompt, tap Delete.
CAUTION – The task is permanently removed from your list and cannot be recovered.
If you try to delete a task that you have not yet exported, a message warns you that you have forms not yet exported. Tap CANCEL if you need to export any data; otherwise tap Yes to confirm.
NOTE – You can only delete tasks that were created in the field in a local project. Tasks created in the field in a cloud projects or assigned from Trimble Connect cannot be deleted in TerraFlex.
