Show, Hide, and Filter Layers

The Layers pane in the 3D Viewer opens a pane that shows the layers in each design; you can show/hide them as needed. The Layers pane serves as a single, centralized interface for accessing and managing the visibility of all design elements, drawings, and models within your project. It organizes data into layers, ensuring that all information adheres to a structured and defined layer convention, which can be consistent with company standards or specific project requirements.

Click the Layers icon on the left side to:

  • Toggle individual layers on/off - Show/hide layers to either clear the view of unnecessary information or to focus on specific elements. This ensures that only the relevant information is displayed at any given time. Toggle the visibility of individual layers, different layers within a single design, as well as surveyed surfaces to focus on relevant design elements or clear the view. Toggle the visibility of entire designs or their individual components (e.g., a specific surface or linework file) from the Design Packages list. After toggling layers, you can still select and interrogate individual visible objects, such as lines or points, to retrieve information like length, area, and coordinates.

  • Filter layers - Quickly find single or related layers using an alphanumeric search.

  • View layer properties - See any layer’s full name, color, line style, and line weight.

  • Select by layer - Pick all the data on a layer.

  • Edit properties of layers and objects, such as color, line style, line weight, and transparency.

  • See metadata - Get Info, such as length and vertex information, about layered linear objects.

NOTE: Data has to be made visible in the Data Packages pane for layers to appear in the Layers pane.
