Troubleshooting

This section describes some possible receiver issues, possible causes, and how to solve them. Please read this section before you contact Technical Support.

The receiver does not turn on

Possible cause

Solution

Internal power is too low.

Do the following:

  • Ensure adapters and cables are connected properly. See Charge the internal battery.

  • Check the charge on the internal batteries and replace if required.

External power is too low.

Do the following:

  • Check that the LEMO connection is seated properly.

  • Check for broken or bent pins in the connector. Check pinouts with multimeter to ensure that the internal wiring is intact.

  • Check the charge on the external power supply, and check the fuse if applicable.

  • Try a different cable. See Accessories.

Issues charging the receiver

Possible cause

Solution

Internal battery power is too low. When charging the internal battery via the USB port, the receiver will keep restarting and it appears if it is not charging.

When the internal battery drops below a certain voltage, you must use the 26-pin or Lemo connector in the back of the receiver to charge the battery. See Charge the internal battery.

The receiver SSID does not show up on the list of available Wi-Fi connections

Possible cause

Solution

The receiver does not have Wi-Fi Access Point mode enabled.

Turn off the receiver and then turn it back on again.

In the web interface, under Wi-Fi / Access Point, select the Enable the Wi-Fi Access Point and Broadcast SSID check boxes.

The receiver is not tracking any satellites

Possible cause

Solution

The GNSS antenna does not have clear line of sight to the sky.

Ensure that the antenna has a clear line of sight. See Common ways to set up a base station.

The cable connections at receiver or antenna are not tightly seated, or are connected incorrectly.

Check all cable connections. See Connect the GNSS antenna.

The cable between the receiver and the GNSS antenna is damaged.

Replace the cable.

The receiver does not log data

Possible cause

Solution

Insufficient memory in the internal memory.

Delete old files. See Deleting files in the receiver.

The receiver is tracking fewer than four satellites.

To see how many satellites are being tracked, check the Home screen or in the web interface, select Satellites / General.

In the web interface, Satellites / Predicted Constellation or Satellites / Rise/Set (Table) or Rise/Set (Graph), reduce the mask value to make more satellites available. The default mask setting for receiver is 10° above the horizon. Change the value to a lower setting temporarily while you are waiting for a better constellation availability.

The receiver is not responding

Possible cause

Solution

The receiver needs a soft reset.

Turn off the receiver and then turn it back on again.

The receiver needs a full reset.

Press the Power button for 15 seconds.
