Import IREDES Tunnel and Drill Plan Files (.xml)
Import IREDES files (.xml) to bring in tunneling and drill planning data that conforms to the International Rock Excavation Data Exchange Standard (IREDES).
To import an IREDES file:
- Follow the instructions in Import Data.
Importing Tunnel Data
When you import an IREDES tunnel shape file:
- Any alignment in the file appears in the Plan View and the Project Explorer.
- The tunnel shapes appear in the Project Explorer under a randomly numbered corridor.
Importing Drilling Data
When you import an IREDES drill planning or as-drilled quality file:
- A Manual type drill plan is created and appears in the Plan View and Project Explorer.
- Any drill plan's properties that are not specified in the imported file (e.g., subdrilling depth) are set to the defaults specified in Project Settings.
- The drill holes are placed on the default layer specified in Project Settings.
- The imported drill holes include the ID, name, type, orientation, inclination, diameter, length, and point coordinates specified in the file.
- The type (split, blast, extra, or unknown) for each drill hole is set based on its type in the file:
- Contour holes import as Split holes
- 'Easers' holes import as Blast holes
- Every other hole imports as an Unknown hole
- The orientation, inclination, and length properties are calculated using the Start Point and the End Point values in the file.
Note: None of the subdrilling values are used; they are all set to No because the End point value includes the subdrilling depth.
