Edit and Rebuild a Drill Plan
Use the Edit Drill Plan command to modify an existing drill plan. You cannot change the type (Manual, Grid, Boundary, etc.), but you can change most of the other settings. If you import a basic drill plan in an IREDES file, you can also inspect and modify the imported drill holes.
When a drill plan is out-of-date (has been changed without being rebuilt) its icon includes a red dot meaning that you need to rebuild it. Use the Rebuild Drill Plan command to update a selected drill plan with changes you have made through the Edit Drill Hole command or in the Properties pane for a drill plan.
Prerequisites:
- Licensed module; See the Subscription Plans page. For a license matrix by command, see the License page in the TBC Community. Also see View and manage licensed features.
- Drill plan that you previously created or imported in an IREDES file (.xml)
To access the command:
- Right-click a drill plan in the Project Explorer and select Edit from the context menu.
- With a drill plan selected, select Edit Drill Plan in Drill Pile Compact > Drilling.
- When reviewing the properties of a drill hole, click the Select Drill Plan icon on the Properties pane's toolbar. Then click the Edit icon on the same toolbar.
To edit a drill plan:
- Click the Edit Settings button and specify settings for a basic drill plan (see Drill Plan Settings for descriptions of the options).
- Once you are done specifying settings, click Apply.
To rebuild a drill plan:
- Pick an out-of-date drill plan and select Rebuild Drill Plan in Drill Pile Compact > Drilling.
- Right-click an out-of-date drill plan in the Project Explorer, and select Rebuild Drill Plan from the context menu.
- In the Properties pane for a drill plan, change the Rebuild method from another option to Auto.
The drill plan is updated with your changes.
Scenarios:
When you rebuild a drill plan:
- All drill holes that you imported or manually added to a drill plan remain unchanged.
Tip: To protect any automatically-generated drill holes when you rebuild, set their Created by user property to Yes in the Properties pane before you rebuild the drill plan.
- Drill holes are recreated according to the type of drill plan it is.
- The subdrilling depth of all drill holes that you manually created or imported are recalculated.
Dependencies:
- Drill hole start, design, and rock intersection points are dependent on the original ground, rock, and finished design surfaces. If these surfaces change, the coordinates of drill holes points will update to reflect the change.
