Name/Label Site Regions
Use the Name/Label Site Regions command to name (and optionally add labels to) three types of site regions so you can report on their areas and cut/fill volumes individually in the Takeoff Report. The types of regions you can report on include: generic area-based site improvements, landscaping/topsoil site improvements, and simple subgrade adjustments. When the command is running, each region of the selected type will be shaded. As you assign a unique name to each region, the shading will change color, enabling you to easily note those yet to be named.
This command enables you to:
- name an unnamed site region
- edit or clear the name of a named site region
- label a named site region
Prerequisites:
- Licensed module; See the Subscription Plans page. For a license matrix by command, see the License page in the TBC Community. Also see View and manage licensed features.
- One or more area-based site improvements or simple subgrade adjustments that have been assigned to site regions
To access the command:
- Select Name/Label Site Regions in Takeoff > Site Improvements.
To name and label site regions:
- To label each region you name as well, check the Label site regions (or Label subgrade adjustment) box.
- Confirm the Layer and Text style for the label.
- In the Applicable Region Identities group, select the type of region you want to rename:
- Generic area-based site improvements
- Landscaping/topsoil site improvements
- Simple subgrade adjustments
- Click in the Site improvement region (or Subgrade adjustment region, if applicable) box and move your cursor over each shaded region in the Plan View to see its name in the Explore identified site improvements (or Subgrade adjustment regions) box.
- To add or change the name of a region, click within its shaded region.
- In the Name box, type a new identifier for the region as you want it to appear in the Plan View and the Takeoff Report.
- To use the same name for multiple regions, but automatically add an incremented numeric suffix, check the Auto-increment numeric suffix box.
- Click Apply to accept the name.
- Click in the Text insertion point box, and drag the leader line away from the region's seed point and click where you want to insert the label. Labels are different for each type of region.
Dependencies:
- The labels are dependent on the names and various other properties of the site improvements (or subgrade adjustments). If you have configured excess material for landscaping/topsoil site improvements, the configuration method is also dependent. If you change any of these properties, the label will update.
