Export Pile Plan Files (.vcl)
Use the DPS Pile Plan exporter (.vcl) to create a pile plan file for use on piling machines running DPS900. For more information about VCL project link files, see Export Project Link Files.
To export pile plans for DPS:
- Select Export in Home > Data Exchange.
- Click the Construction tab.
- Select DPS Pile Plan exporter in the File Format list.
- In the Pile plan list, select the name of the plan you want to export.
- To limit the export to specific piles, uncheck the Export all planned piles box, click in the Planned piles to export box, and select specific piles. Alternately, you can click Options and choose a selection option in the list. You can also pick specific piles and other objects to export in a graphic view or the Selection Explorer.
- Type a path and file name for the exported file in the File Name box, or click the Browse icon to browse for a location and specify a file name.
Tip: To make a pile plan easy to select and open in DPS900, export it to either a USB flash drive or C:\Trimble Synchronizer Data\<DPS900 controller name>\Trimble SCS900 Data\<job site>\Pile Plans\<pile plan name>\<pile plan name.vcl>.
On the tablet that is running DPS900, the default path to this exported file’s location is C:\Trimble Synchronizer Data\<tablet serial number>\Trimble SCS900 Data\<job site name>\Pile Plans\<pile plan name>\<pile plan name.vcl>. In DPS900, the pile plan appears listed under Site Setup and Pile Plan Manager. After piling has been completed in the field, the pile plan quality file (as-built pile results) is saved to the same location as <pile plan name.quality.xml>. This will make the as-built results visible in Trimble Business Center when you synchronize your tablet.
Note: The file path above will be incorrect if SCS900 was installed on the tablet before DPS900 was installed. Replace <tablet serial number> with <PC>.
- If you want to export another file after this one, uncheck the Close command after export box.
- Click Export. The selected data is exported to the file you specified.
