Remove a Line from a Vertical Design

After you have created a vertical design, use the Remove Line from Vertical Design command to edit the design by taking a source or target line out of the computations. You can add new lines to a vertical design using the Lines tab in the Edit Vertical Design command (see Edit a Vertical Design).

Prerequisites:

To access the commands:

  • Right-click a line that is included in a vertical design, and select Remove Line from Vertical Design.

To remove lines from a vertical design:

  1. Select the design to change in the Vertical design object list.
  2. Pick the Lines to remove in the view.
  3. Click Apply.

Vertical Design Properties

  • Description - Name given to the rule. When created, it is empty (blank). The name or description can be useful, in some cases, for understanding the order of the rules.
  • Type - Elevation. This read-only property cannot be edited.
  • Source line - Name of connected line (IdBeg.Name). If no line is connected, the property is empty (blank). Empty field will occur if Search distance is set smaller than appearing offset distance from elevation point to nearest line in project.
  • Elevation - Elevation at the specified location of the rule.
  • Active - When created, this is set to True. If it is True, the rule is used in computations. Set this to False when you want this rule to be ignored.
  • Order - Shows the order of the rule in the rules list.
  • Status - Shows a code if there is an error computing the rule (or 0 (zero) if the status is okay).
  • Message - If the Status=0, this property is blank. Otherwise, there is a message matching the status code.

Dependencies:

  • Each vertical design is dependent on the lines and alignment it was built from; if you edit the geometry of any, the design updates accordingly.
