Export Tunnel Design Files (.txl)
Export tunnel design data contained in your project into a tunnel file (.txl) that can be opened in Trimble Access or another TBC project. The following tunnel design objects and their associated properties are included in the export as applicable:
- Horizontal and vertical tunnel alignments
- Tunnel corridor
- Tunnel name
- Tunnel templates
- Tunnel template positions
- Tunnel set outs, rotations, offsets
Note: You cannot export designed tunnel meshes and as-built data in a TXL file. Designed tunnel meshes can only be exported using the CAD DWG exporter.
To export a tunnel file (.txl):
Note: For general instructions on exporting data files, see Export Data.
- Select Export in Home > Data Exchange.
The Export command pane displays.
- Click the Corridor tab and select TXL Tunnel Exporter.
- Complete the fields as shown in the following table. Then click Export.

Select the tunnel design you want to export. |
Begin/End station |
Enter the station IDs that specify the horizontal beginning and ending points for the exported alignment. The stations must be within the range where the horizontal and vertical alignments overlap. |
Station interval |
Specify the frequency at which cross-sections can be viewed in Trimble Access. Note: As a tunnel design property in TBC, the Station Interval is used to determine the increments used with the video controls when you view a tunnel in the Tunnel Viewer. |
