Export Track Files (.track)

Export alignments and other linear entities in your project to a Track (.track) file that can be imported into Trimble GEDO rail track measurement system software.

To export track files:

  1. Select Export in Home > Data Exchange.
  2. In the Export pane, select the Corridor tab and select Track file exporter in the list.
  3. Click in the Pick an object to export to a .track file field and then select the alignment or line you want to export.

If you select a horizontal alignment that includes a vertical alignment, the Vertical alignment to be exported field is automatically populated. If you want to use a different vertical alignment associated with the selected horizontal alignment than the one automatically selected, you must first select it in the Vertical Alignment drop-down list in the Properties pane for the horizontal alignment.

  4. Optionally, in the File Name field change the default name of the export file and/or it's folder location. Optionally, click the Save File Remotely button to save the file to an external service (requires anExternal Services Profile).
  5. Do either of the following:
    • Click Export to export the data using the specified file name to the specified destination folder.
    • Click Remote Save to display the Connected Workspace window, which allows you to save the file to a Connected Workspace project. Simply select the project in Connected Workspace and click Save.

When you select this option, the file is not saved to the specified file folder. It is saved only in your Connected Workspace project. Note that Trimble ID login credentials are required to run the Connected Workspace command. For more information, see Exchange Data Using Connected Workspace.
