Coordinate System Settings
Use the Coordinate System group in the Project Settings dialog to view read-only project settings for the coordinate system and other geodetic data currently being used in your project. Click the Change button to make changes to the settings using the the Change Coordinate System wizard.
To access the Coordinate System project settings:
- Select Project Settings in the Quick Access Toolbar.
The Project Settings dialog displays.
- Click Coordinate System in the left pane.
Note: A button on the Trimble Business Center Task Bar identifies the current type of coordinate system configured for the project: "Grid," "Ground," or "Calibrated." You can click this button to display the Coordinate System settings in the Project Settings dialog and make changes if necessary.
The following table describes each of the available settings.
Coordinate System Project Settings |
|
Coordinate System |
View read-only settings for the coordinate system currently being used in your project. You can verify you are using the correct zone, datum, and geoid model by viewing their EPSG IDs, which are automatically updated whenever there is a change to the datum or geoid. And every ID is a clickable link to the EPSG website where you can find more information about it. Click the Change button to change the coordinate system using the Change Coordinate System wizard. |
Datum Transformation |
View read-only settings for the datum transformation currently being used in your project. Click the Change button to change the horizontal datum to use for transformation (or create a new horizontal datum) using the Select Horizontal Datum wizard. |
Geoid Model and Vertical Datum |
View read-only settings for the geoid model used for the vertical datum, along with the name of the vertical datum. Click the Change button to change the geoid model, geoid model quality, or vertical datum name using the Change Coordinate System wizard. |
Local Site |
View read-only settings for the ground coordinates (if used), project location, and coordinate display being used in your project. Click the Local Site Settings button to open the Local Site Settings command pane, which allows you to to create a ground coordinate system to accommodate elevation differences between your site and the ellipsoid. |
Projection |
View read-only settings for the projection being used in your project. Click the Change button to change the coordinate system using the Change Coordinate System wizard. |
Shift Grid |
View read-only settings for the shift grid name and file name being used in your project. Click the Change button to change the coordinate system using the Change Coordinate System wizard. |
Site Calibration |
View read-only settings for the site calibration method being used in your project. Click the Site Calibration button to calibrate your site between global coordinate data and local control coordinates. |
Network Adjustment Transformation |
View read-only GNSS vector transformation parameters. Click the Adjust Network button to perform a network adjustment in your project. |
RTX Calibration |
View read-only RTX offsets (ECEF for JXL files or ENU for DC files), horizontal and vertical precision distances, and the reference frame and reference epoch used in the RTX calibration. When working with JXL files, optionally click the Clear RTX Calibration button to delete any offset values displayed. When working with DC files, optionally click the Estimate RTX Calibration button to specify that the software estimate the offsets using time-dependent transformations. The Global Referenced Datum displacement model is displayed in Project Settings > Coordinate System. For more information, see RTX Post-Processing Settings and Compute Positions Using RTX Post-Processing. |
