Maps and models

The Map provides a rich view of all points, lines and polygons in the job, as well as:

  • 3D models in linked BIM files

  • points, lines and polygons in linked files

  • data from background maps

You can add data to the map that is not in the job using the Layer manager. Use the Layer manager to:

  • Link point files, map files, (including BIM models), scans and surface inspections to the job.

  • Link background maps from a variety of sources and in various formats.

Use the view and selection tools in the map to:

  • Locate and view the data in the map you are most interested in.

  • Select items in the map and review information about them.

  • Tap Review to review details of the selected items.

From the map you can add new points, lines, and polygons to the map (and the job) using a variety of software functions:

  • Measure new points, lines, and polygons using position information from the connected GNSS receiver or conventional survey instrument.

  • Key in new points and lines, if needed.

  • Perform measurements and calculations using Cogo functions.

  • Select items in the map and use them in other software functions, for example to perform a Cogo calculation or to create a surface.
