Walk-Through View

Use the Walk-Through View to simulate walking through a point cloud in a 3D View in which you control:

  • The direction you "walk" (move)
  • The direction you "look" (pan)
  • Your field of view (zoom)

To "walk through" a 3D view:

  1. When viewing a point cloud on the 3D View tab, select 3D View Settings in Home > View.

The 3D View Settingscommand pane displays, allowing you to configure the 3D view. Configure your view to best suit your simulated walk-through. Typically, a horizontal view works best. If you need to reconfigure the 3D view after you have launched the Walk-Through command, just re-select 3D View Settings in Home > View.

  2. In the 3D View Settings command pane, click the Walk-Through button.

The Walk-Through command pane displays. In addition, if you place your cursor on the 3D View tab, it displays as a "walking person" icon.

You can now take a simulated walk through your view using any of the following methods:

    • Use the controls in the Walk-Through command pane.
    • Use your mouse.
    • Use your keyboard.
