Import Measure Codes Definition Files (.mcd)

You can import Measure Codes layout options from a Measure Codes Definition file (.mcd)that was exported from another project or application. The file includes the options specified in the Measure Codes Editor that define the layout and behavior of each feature definition/control group available for selection in the Measure Codes section in the Create Point command. (For more information, see Measure Feature Codes when Creating a Point.)

Before you can import layout options from an MCD file into your project, the project must include a Feature Library, either from an imported Feature Definition (.fxl) file or created in the project. During import, options will be updated for any feature definition/control groups contained in the Feature Library that match those included in the MCD file. (If the project does not include a Feature Library, MCD file options will not be imported.)

Note that if you import a Feature Definition (.fxl) file into your project and the import folder also includes an MCD file with the same name as the FXL file, the layout options specified in the MCD file are automatically imported along with the FXL file.

For additional instructions on importing files, see Import Data.
