Create a Feature Library
As an alternative to importing a Feature Definition (.fxl) file into your project to populate (define) the project's Feature Library for feature code processing, you can use the Create Feature Library command to create a new Feature Library from "scratch." After you complete populating the Feature Library, you can, if necessary, export its contents to an FXL file that can be shared with field crews and others.
Note: If you create a new Feature Library in a project that already includes a Feature Library (whether it was the result of an imported FXL file or created from scratch), the new library replaces the old one and all of old feature definitions are deleted from the project. If you have processed feature codes in your project, you will need to reprocess them with the new Feature Library.
To create a Feature Library:
- Select Create Feature Library to display the New Feature Library command pane.
- In the Library name field, enter a name for the new library.
- Click OK.
A new Feature Library node displays in the Project Explorer.
