Print Plan View

Use the Print Plan View command to print/plot one or more sheets from a plan set. You can plot to any of the printing or plotting devices supported by Windows. You can print/plot a sheet from either the Plan View or a 3D View.

To quickly open the project folder that you are currently working in, select Open Project Folder.

To print sheets from a plan view or a 3D view:

  1. Select Print Plan View in Drafting > Plan View.

    A red boundary preview appeares in the Plan View. This boundary updates when you adjust the scale, size, rotation, and array settings.

  2. The following steps are optional:
    1. Select a template from the Sheet Set dropdown. The default is <none>. To use a template, see Open and Save a Drafting Template.
    2. Enter a Name.
    3. Enter a Scale.
    4. Under Workspace size, select a pre-formatted paper size, or enter a custom size using Width and Height.

      Select either Sheet units or Ground units, then select either to Portrait or Landscape.

    5. Under Arrange Multiple Plots, click either In an Array (go to step 2f) or Along a Line (skip to step 2g).
    6. If you selected In an Array, select the number of Rows and Columns to print. Enter the Overlap between the plots in millimeters.
      • Under Placement, enter the Location of the plot, or click and drag in the Plan View.
      • Under Placement, enter the Rotation, or use your mouse to rotate the plot in the Plan View.
    7. If you selected Along a Line, click in the Line field, then in the Plan View select the line to follow. Enter the Start Offset and Overlap between the plots in millimeters.
  3. Optionally, select a grid from the Grid dropdown list. Select <New grid> to open the Grid Style Manager.
  4. Optionally, select a filter from the View Filter dropdown. The default is to view all.
  5. In the Save in Plan Set dropdown, select a plan set.
  6. In the Save Boundaries to Layer dropdown, select the layer on which to save the boundaries.

    Alternately, click an object in the graphic view to create the boundary on the same layer as the object.

    Note: It is recommended that you select a non-printing layer for overlapping boundaries.

  7. Click Create to open a Sheet View displaying the areas you selected.
  8. Click Print to print the Plan Set without opening the Sheet View. Follow the instructions in Print Plan Set.
