Add or Remove Control Points

Add control points to your job site data to make them available on designated site controllers. Control points are used on site controllers by crews in the field to establish the positional accuracy of a site survey.

Note: You cannot add or remove control points if there is a conflict in site units. See Resolve a Conflict in Job Site Settings.
Note: Version 3.4 of SCS900 enables you to store field-created points in a <control points>.field.csv file. You can also send updated office-approved control points from Trimble Business Center to the field using a <control points>.office.csv file. See the SCS900 documentation for more information.

To add/remove site control points:

  1. If you have just created or added a site, the Job Site Manager command pane is displayed. Otherwise, select Job Site Manager in Construction Data > Controllers.

The Job Site Manager command pane displays.

  2. Click in the Control Points group. The Add/Remove Control Points command pane displays.
  3. To add additional control points to the file, pick them in a graphic view, or click Options for selection options.
  4. Click Add. The selected control points are added to the control point file.
  5. To remove excess control points, pick them or click Options.
  6. Click Remove. The points are removed from the site data.
  7. To highlight the control points that are now included in the site data in graphic views, click Select in the Control Points group.
  8. Click OK. The control points are saved as a .csv file in the data synchronization area.

Note: If you are also using Omnistar© control points, they will reside with the site data in a file called reference.csv in the data synchronization area. This will not cause a conflict with your control points file.

  9. To visually confirm which control points are included in the site data, click Select in the Control Points group.
