Select Objects Using the Selection Explorer

The Selection Explorer includes a Selection Sets list (1 below) that includes all of the selection sets in your project. Located beneath it is a Selection Palette list (2 below) that includes all of the member objects included in the currently selected selection set(s). The tool bar includes icons for commands you can use to create and modify selection sets as necessary.

Note: Use Ctrl + click and Shift + click to multi-select in any Selection Explorer list.

To select objects using the Selection Explorer:

  1. Select Selection Explorer in Home > Selection.
  2. In the Selection Sets list, click one or more selection sets whose member objects you want to select to perform an action, such as view properties.

The member objects are displayed in the Select Palette list.

Note: The <Selection Snapshot> selection set allows you to select objects and add them to the Selection Palette to create a temporary selection set that can optionally be saved as a new selection set (see Create Selection Sets).

  3. Optionally, in the Selection Palette list, click one or more objects you want to select to perform an action.
