Export GCS Machine Site Map Files (.svl)

Export site map files (.svl) that contain site map data and guidance alignments for GCS machines. Using this command, data for machines can be exported to compact flash data cards for use on the machine. Alternately, you can use the Compress/E-mail Field Data command to save and e-mail files to the job site as an attachment. The exported job site on the data card has a root folder with the site's name containing each file with the same root name and different extensions indicating the type of data they contain.

To export a site map file for a GCS machine:

Note: For general instructions on exporting data files, see Export Data.

  1. Select Export in Home > Data Exchange. The Export command pane displays.
  2. Click the Construction tab. The available exporters appear.
  3. Select Machine Site Map exporter in the File Format list.
  4. Click in the Data box, and pick the objects that you want to include in the export from a graphic view or the Project Explorer, or click Options and choose a selection option in the list.
  5. Type a path and file name for the exported file in the File Name box, or click the Browse button to browse for a location and specify a file name.

Note: By default, the exported file is given the name of your project.

  6. If you want to export another file after this one, uncheck the Close command after export box.
  7. In the Settings group, set export properties.
  8. Click Export. The selected data is exported to the file you specified.
