TerraFlex

Trimble TerraFlex software is the field component of the TerraFlex GIS data capture system. It is designed for fast and efficient data capture.

• Work with Trimble Connect Cloud Projects on Android, iOS, and Windows devices.

  Cloud mode streamlines the process of deploying projects to the field, and getting captured data back into the office by utilizing cloud synchronization. Build your data collection projects and form templates in the Trimble Connect Map Viewer. When field crews sign in to TerraFlex it automatically downloads those projects and templates. Data captured with TerraFlex is automatically synchronized back to the Trimble Connect Map Viewer where it can be reviewed and exported to various formats.

• Work with TerraFlex Local Projects, on Android and iOS devices.

  With local mode you can utilize and share captured data directly from the field. No data is synchronized via the cloud. Build your data collection projects and form templates in the Trimble Connect Map Viewer and use Trimble Terra Office to turn those projects into project template files. The project template files can be sent to your devices and used in TerraFlex to create local projects. Data captured in TerraFlex will not be synchronized to the cloud, and instead can be exported to files and shared from your device.

The TerraFlex software supports Online (connected) and Offline workflows:

• Online workflows require an internet connection when working in the field. When you are working Online, TerraFlex will:

  • Receive new projects, and updates to existing projects.

  • Automatically synchronize collected data to the Trimble Connect Map Viewer.

  • Download background map tiles.

  • Stream VRS / Single Base GNSS corrections, or Trimble RTX Internet corrections.

• If you do not have an internet connection in the field, then TerraFlex will:

  • Store collected data on the device until you are next online.

  • Use previously downloaded offline map caches.

  • Use satellite based corrections services like Trimble RTX or SBAS / WAAS.

In both Online and Offline workflows, Trimble Offline GNSS Corrections can be used.

Use TerraFlex to:

• Sign in to TerraFlex.

  • For Cloud Projects, the project map, forms, and positioning configurations are automatically downloaded.

  • For Local Projects, see Working with Local Projects for more information.

• Connect to Trimble GNSS for better spatial accuracy.

• Integrate with:

  • the Trimble HPS2 handle to capture accurate data, by combining the high accuracy positioning from a Catalyst DA2 receiver with laser measurements from Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM) technology.

  • a TruPulse laser rangefinder to capture remote points.

  • utility locators / external sensors to automatically populates specific fields, with information such as height, current, mode, depth etc.

• Collect new data, or take data already in your GIS out to the field for updates.

• Complete tasks that have been assigned to you.

• For Cloud Projects, synchronize data to the Map Viewer where it can be reviewed and exported.

• For Local Projects, export data as required.
